• Solar energy is a renewable energy source. Each day we receive more solar energy from the sun. Scientists have thought about the longevity of our sun, but suffice it to say, the sun will still shine for generations to come.

• Solar energy is clean energy. In order to use fossil fuels, they must be refined into usable forms. That process requires energy and also gives off by-products that can be harmful to the environment. Greenhouse gases have become trapped in our atmosphere due to clouds of pollutants. Our core planet temperature will rise as a result.
• Solar energy benefits those who need power but don’t live in cities. The sun shines everywhere so you can collect rays all over the planet.
Cons:
Solar energy has another side. It is important to know all the facts to make informed decisions.
• Solar energy is not in use on a large scale. Some scientists have toyed with the idea of building large collectors to capture more energy higher in the atmosphere, but technology needs to make some major advantages to make that happen.
• Solar energy harnessing is expensive. For businesses and homes to utilize energy from the sun, they need to add solar panels to their buildings and homes. Depending on the size of your home and energy needs, more than one panel could be needed and the price adds up quickly.
